Becoming a Society of Sharing Volunteer

Step 1
Contact the Society of Sharing to make an appointment.

Step 2 - First Interview

Meet with the Executive Director to learn more about the agency and your compatibility. Complete the Volunteer Application Form. Provide the names and addresses of two references whom you have known for two years (not family members). Complete and sign the Consent to Police Reference Check Form. The agency will be in contact once the references are received.

Step 3 - Meeting with the Coordinator of Volunteers

The volunteer reviews the Volunteer Manual with the coordinator and discusses the roles and responsibilities. Should the volunteer choose friendly visiting a brief profile of several potential clients will be discussed. An appointment is scheduled for the volunteer and coordinator to meet with a client. A volunteer can choose to work in another program such as medical and shopping escort, which will be discussed with the coordinator.

A confirmation letter is mailed to the volunteer .
