Volunteers reach out to seniors and people with disabilities offering their time, caring and companionship. The volunteer is a friend and an advocate. Volunteers work independently with support from the professional staff of Society of Sharing.

Volunteers are expected to:

• Provide friendly, reliable service to their client
• Listen and provide support without judgment
• Respect the privacy, values, safety, security and well-being of their client
• Keep confidential any personal information they may become privy to during the course of service.
• Discuss any social or health concerns with professional staff.
• Provide statistics on a monthly timecard.
• Attend training and development meetings.
• Complete an annual evaluation review.
• Inform professional staff if unable to continue volunteering.
