The Society of Sharing reaches out to isolated and
housebound individuals, seniors and people with disabilities.
The Society's clients are not employable due to
age, illness or disability. The clients are on fixed
incomes, usually on the lower income scale range.
They reside in our service area, between Bathurst
Street east to Logan Avenue, and the Waterfront north
to St. Clair Avenue.
Becoming
a Society of Sharing Client
Many of our clients are referred to us by
other social service agencies in the community. A
qualified staff member will schedule a meeting at
the potential client's convenience and complete an
assessment to determine eligibility.
In
Their Own Words: Client Testimonials
"It
seems that every time she comes to visit me the whole
apartment lights up"
"When
I had my volunteer, something changed in my life.
She even phones me quite often during the week to
make sure I am ok. We go out for walks."
"It
feels that she is no longer a companion, someone sent
by an agency. I feel that she belongs to me, as if
she were one of my own daughters."
"Before
he came into my life, I felt as if I was wandering
around in the street where nobody cares."
