The Society of Sharing: Inner-City Volunteers is an incorporated, charitable, non-profit organization that provides services to isolated, lonely and frail seniors and adults with physical disabilities. All of Society of Sharing’s programs are designed to reduce social isolation, promote social connection, and improve the well-being of housebound clients.
The organization was started because of concern about the plight of single, displaced persons living in the downtown core. We have touched the lives of isolated seniors and adults with disabilities who still live independently in the community. We provide support to enhance the quality of life for these individuals and extend the length of time they are able to live independently in their own homes.
We recruit, screen, and match volunteers with clients in order to provide our services. We also provide information and referrals to other agencies in order to help our clients meet their needs.
CanadaHelps is an online fundraising solution
that has made it possible for Society of Sharing to accept donations over the internet.
